AViVA 2017
Australian born now LA based musician AViVA is the female emo-pop artist the scene has been waiting for. Since the release of her first single GRRRLS which has garnered over 17 million streams, she’s created her own brand of music combining elements of rock, pop, punk and emo, telling a common story from her unique perspective. Her songs, tell her story of standing apart from the crowd and the personal journey that ignites. Writing music people can relate to is part of AViVA’s mission and it is evident through the levels of engagement and positive reception across social media, especially YouTube where she is building a culture of connection, responding to her fans. She says, ‘Everything is so online and anonymous- I just want people to realise that I’m a real person having real feelings just like them, and that the way they feel is valid’. With the statistics for GRRRLS and DROWN at just shy of 20 million streams you can see that this fan-first approach is working for her. AViVA isn’t just stopping at telling these stories through her music, she’s also currently writing a young-adult series to accompany her sound. Building the story and developing her world, she is expanding on the theme’s she explores in her songs. Proving that she is developing more than just good music, AViVA’s world is developing rapidly, catching the attention of people such as Kat Corbett (KROQ), Allison Hagendorf (Spotify) along with hugely popular radio stations and Youtube tastemakers proving that emo isn’t dead, and that it’s for everybody. Online AViVA has also built up a profile in many subcultures and continues to grow this with the expanding AViVA universe showing us she’s making more than just music, she’s creating a movement, with AViVA herself standing in the forefront. AViVA’s live show is also an important part of her overall story. From having played showcases for radio stations like KROQ (LA) to supporting and sharing stages with some of best known acts today on tours as well as festivals, with more on the way in 2018. .
